Founded in 2017 by the Catalan dancer and choreographer David Gutiérrez, BFB is recognized by the press and international institutions as ‘the flamenco ballet of Barcelona’ and an ambassador of the city which shows the great flamenco tradition that has historically flourished in Catalonia.
Whether in China, South Korea or the United States, as well as in the United Kingdom or Finland, up to 40 countries from all continents have presented the BFB in their main theatres and festivals.
In 7 seasons, more than 500,000 spectators have enthusiastically welcomed their dance and have granted them a leading place in the fabric of international dance and in the heart of flamenco that is made in Catalonia.

David Gutiérrez, dancer and choreographer born in Barcelona, was trained in Malaga with the prestigious teacher Raquel de Luna. Gutiérrez, child prodigy of flamenco, is
considered one of the most talented dancers in Spain, recognized as one of the leading dancers of international flamenco. His extensive experience and avant-garde personal stamp have infused the company with an unmistakable style, that together with his enterprising and tenacious character, has achieved the difficult challenge of consolidating a large-format dance company.
